writing3All of us have stories to tell. The most interesting and meaningful ones often relate to experiences we’ve lived through. This can include both experiences we’ve sorted through and come to understand, and ones that we’re still processing and trying to make sense of.

Whether you’re interested in writing your life story, or exploring a few specific memories in shorter word pieces, this class will help.

In this Seattle writing class, you’ll learn how to find and clarify the stories you want to share with people, and write truthfully, honestly and engagingly while drawing from your own life experiences.  You’ll also learn when it’s effective and appropriate to use elements commonly found in fiction, to give form and shape to narratives relating to nonfiction experiences from our lives. The class is shaped around writing exercises, with opportunities for students who would like to, to share them in class.  Nils Osmar, instructor.
