Tarot is more than a deck of cards. It is a way to examine the world and the choices we face. It is a tool for strengthening intuition and finding one’s inner voice.
Class 1: Tarot Explorations
This class will introduce you to the Tarot, an ancient set of 78 cards believed to have powers to predict the future and better understand the present. We will review the history of tarot cards from the 15th century to the present, and consider the meanings of the first 40 cards, known as the “Pips.”
Class 2: The “Trump” Cards
This class will focus on the 22 “Trump” cards that are so well known in popular culture. What does the “Fool Card” signify? Who is the “High Priestess?”
Using basic numerology, participants will identify their Soul Purpose and Personality Cards, and practice a guided meditation to understand their messages.
Class 3: Make your own Tarot Card
In order to get familiar with tarot’s 16 Royalty cards (Kings, Queens, Knights and Pages), we will use this class time to make our own tarot cards. Which royalty figure is closest to you? Who is your “Queen of Cups?” This is a hands-on collage making activity with high-quality, beautiful materials. Participants keep the cards they make.
Class 4: Asking Questions and Getting Answers
This class will focus on how to word questions and how to structure the cards for the most meaningful answers. Learn one-card spreads, three-card spreads, and the time-honored ten-card Celtic Cross spread. We will practice reading for ourselves and each other, and review to solidify your foundation for future practice with the Tarot.
