Tuition: $200 + $10 reg. fee
Max. enrollment: 8

In this online painting class, class, you’ll learn how to paint using water-mixable oils (also known as water-miscible oils).

Water mixable oils blend as smoothly as regular oils, but are easier to paint with and to clean up.

Our focus will be on understanding form, color and value, and learning how to paint objects that look like they are solid and look real. No previous painting experience is necessary.

You’ll have fun, learn a lot, and you’ll learn techniques you can practice to develop your painting skills further in the future. It’s an online class, so you can take it wherever you live.

A list of materials to buy, and where to buy them online, will be sent when you sign up.

Frequently Asked Questions

“Should I take a drawing class first before a painting class?”

  • Drawing skills do come in handy when painting. So some people do find it useful to take drawing classes first. If you’re totally new to drawing you may want to take the instructor’s online Drawing for Absolute Beginners course. But the class has no prerequisites. Anyone is welcome to sign up.

Does it work well to learn painting in an online class?

  • We’ve found that it does as long as class sizes are kept small. So we’re keeping the enrollment of this class to 6 students or less.
