Drawing Faces and Portraits ⟾ starts July 16

In this fun, information-filled drawing class, you’ll learn

  • how to draw faces from the front view, side view and 3/4 view, using an easy step-by-step method
  • all about proportions and facial expressions
  • how to draw realistic, recognizable portraits of people from photos or from life
  • how to draw men’s faces, women’s faces and children’s faceds
  • how to draw hair (several different hairstyles)
  • students will bet practice drawing people from several different groups, including Caucasians; African-Americans; and folks from Asian countries
  • how to draw the features: ears, noses, eyes, eyebrows and mouths

COLORED PENCIL DRAWING ⟾ meets 7/21 (Saturday)

Colored pencils are clean, fun, and portable. In this enjoyable class, you’ll learn how to draw and “paint” using high quality pencils, and mix and blend them to create beautiful, vibrant drawings.

You’ll spend the day drawing in color, working from step by step materials created by the instructor, so you can work at your own pace, consulting with the instructor whenever you need help.  One day workshops are a fun, relaxing way to learn this interesting medium. You can bring your own art materials, or buy a materials in the store where the class is held.

MIXED MEDIA COLLAGE ⟾ meets on Sat. 8/4

“Mixed Media Collage”is a great class for accomplished artists to unlock their creativity, and a wonderful introduction for beginning collage students as well. There is absolutely no experience required! No drawing skills needed at all! No expensive tools to buy! Collage is a perfect way to get your creative feet wet. Note: There is a small materials fee payable to the instructor. Please see class page for more information.

SCREENWRITING 101 ⟾ starts 7/25 (Wednesdays)

Looking for a screenwriting class that covers the fundamentals, and gives you an opportunity to write and workshop some actual scenes and short scripts? In this Seattle screenwriting class, open to both beginners and experienced writers, you’ll learn how screenplays are written, do exercises to develop your screenwriting skills, and get helpful feedback on your writings.
