Tuition: $99 + $10 registration fee
Instructor: Lonni Flowers
University of Washington campus - Seattle

  • Have you ever wanted to make jewelry that is just for you or something to give to a friend?
  • Have a favorite sweater or top that you can’t find anything to coordinate?
  • Tired of old jewelry that falls apart?
  • Then this class is for you!!
  • In this class, you will learn to make earrings, bracelets, and necklaces that are uniquely yours.
  • You will learn to use the elements of art (color, texture, shape, repetition of motifs) to blend in your designs.
  • You will also experience a variety of techniques that are adaptable to many styles and types of jewelry.

There will be instruction and assistance in using a variety of tools to make your designing easier. Each step will be explained, demonstrated, and then practiced with careful guidance in order to ensure a successful completion of the projects.

By the end of the class, you will have created a pair or two of earrings, a gemstone bracelet of your choice, and a long “trade” bead necklace with a simple closure.

Beads provided will include your choice of various gemstones, crystals, wood, metal, and glass beads in a variety of shapes, colors, and sizes.  Your project pieces may match, coordinate, or be completely different…lots of options to choose.

All beading materials and tools will be available to use in class for your project completions. Enough instructions, beads, gemstones, and findings will be provided for your projects with a materials fee of $20 payable to the instructor at the beginning of the class.  If you have additional beads that you want to learn how to use, you are welcome to bring them, but no prior purchases are necessary.

The instructor, Lonni Flowers, has been making and selling various types of jewelry for over 20 years, in person, on-line, and in galleries. She is an experienced artist and instructor in watercolor, acrylic, colored pencil drawing, and collage. She brings to her jewelry craft the basics of art applied to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind wearable art.
