IMPRESSIONIST PAINTING

Students will learn about composition, planning a painting, and underpainting as well as exploring how to apply paint in an Impressionist style.

This class is ideal for aspiring painters with some experience in oil and acrylic painting, or for beginners who have completed the instructor’s PAINTING FOR BEGINNERS course. Instructor: Diane Crago

  • Class #1: Learning about composition and creating a thumbnail from subject matter, review of color mixing studies
  • Class #2: How to plan an underpainting. Beginning a painting done in the Impressionist style

About Nils Osmar

Nils Osmar was born in Alaska, and grew up in a wilderness area on the southern coast. He now lives in Seattle. He has made his living in the arts for over thirty years, working as a writer, visual artist, teacher, and filmmaker. He currently teaches through the University of Washington's ASUW Experimental College. He is the Director of an independent educational program, Classesandworkshops.com, which offers courses in visual, written and performing arts in Seattle, Washington.
