CRASH COURSE IN FILMMAKING

Want to learn the basics of filmmaking? This Seattle filmmaking class will teach you the essentials, at a tuition you can afford.  Many people take this class along with Let’s Make  Movie, which meets a half hour later in the same location. This class, Crash Course in Filmmaking, teaches how movies are made (the theory behind lighting, audio, camera angles, finding actors, etc.; Let’s Make  Movie gives students the practical experience of actually helping make a short film.) LET’S MAKE A MOVIE

Ever dreamed about acting in a movie, or making a movie of your own?  In this fun, hands-on Seattle film acting class, course, we’ll create and film a short independent movie from scratch.  You can participate as an actor, member of the crew, or both.  It’s an acting class, a filmmaking class, and an involving immersive experience. START WRITING YOUR SCREENPLAY

In this Seattle screenwriting class, you’ll learn how screenplays are written, and have opportunities to write some short scenes and scripts, workshop them in class, and get feedback on your writings. We’ll focus on plot and structure, script formatting, dialogue and action, and how to write an effective and marketable script. Nils Osmar, instructor

About Nils Osmar

Nils Osmar was born in Alaska, and grew up in a wilderness area on the southern coast. He now lives in Seattle. He has made his living in the arts for over thirty years, working as a writer, visual artist, teacher, and filmmaker. He currently teaches through the University of Washington's ASUW Experimental College. He is the Director of an independent educational program, Classesandworkshops.com, which offers courses in visual, written and performing arts in Seattle, Washington.
