In this fun and focused “one night wonder” class, you’ll learn about:

  • Why colors can look great under some lighting conditions, but (the same colors) can look terrible under when the lighting is different
  • All about warm and cool colors, and how to use them for mood or effect, or to make paintings look more striking and three dimensional
  • All about opposites and complements: colors that can neutralize each other or bring each other to life
  • Why some color arrangements (or paintings) may look dull and bland, and how a small dash of a totally different color can bring them to life.
  • How to start from just three or four basic colors, and paint earth tones, tints and shades

Playing with paints provided by the instructor, we’ll mix and blend colors, paint tints and shades, paint some simple color compositions, and come out of the class with a clearer sense of how to have fun with color. A great class for artists and others.

P.S. “Exploring Color” is also a great class to take before, or along with, any of our other painting classes.  No previous drawing or painting experience is needed.
