ACTING 103 is the third in a series of six classes designed to help students develop their foundation acting skills.

  • In Acting 101, we dipped our toes into acting, getting a sense of how to begin the process of building our acting skills. We did some sense memory work, some improv, some group exercises, and also memorized and performed some short scenes.
  • In Acting 102, we looked at Character and Motivation, with a focus on script analysis.
  • In this class (Acting 103: The Next Step) our focus will be on adding texture and substance to the characters and situations we’re exploring — creating a sense of reality and context. We’ll do listening and responding exercises, exercises in “intention” (motivating specific moments in a scene). Exercises will include improv; scene work; listening/responding exercises; scenes with words, and scenes without words; and more.

ACTING 103 is one of our core foundational acting classes. It can be taken by itself, or applied toward our Certificate Program in Acting.  Instructor: Nils Osmar
