CARTOONING CLASSES: Short Course Descriptions

CARTOONING 101

Looking for a fun introductory class in cartooning? In this class, you’ll learn how to create your own cartoon characters and show them in action, even if you’ve never drawn before. Whether you’re interested in drawing “gag” panels, greeting cards, humorous illustrations, comic books or newspaper strips, or just exploring a fun and easy new art form to take a break from it all, this class will get you off to a good start. You can bring your own drawing materials, or buy an inexpensive materials kit in class. Seattle: UW campus

COMIC BOOK ILLUSTRATION

In this class, open to everyone, students will start out by learning how to draw realistically proportioned adult human figures in a simplified comic book style, then learn how to show them in action. We’ll practice drawing, shading and inking the figure and moving it around on the page.  You can bring your own drawing materials, or buy an inexpensive materials kit in class.  Seattle: UW campus
