drawing-2-class-pic1Drawing For Beginners 2: The Next Step is a FOLLOW-UP CLASS for students who have completed the Drawing for Absolute Beginners class and would like to continue developing their foundation drawing skills.

Building on the techniques we learned in the Drawing for Absolute Beginners class, the focus in the “next step” class is on making the transition to drawing from life, and developing skills that can be used to sketch still lifes and environments, scenes in nature, quick sketches of buildings, and more. We will also explore a range of different media including drawing in soft vine charcoal.  To get the most benefit from this class, it is recommended that students take Drawing for Absolute Beginners first.  (It’s fine to sign up for both classes at the same time.)

STUDENT COMMENTS about DRAWING FOR BEGINNERS 2: THE NEXT STEP

“The DRAWING FOR BEGINNERS 2 class was really good. It took us to the next level beyond what we’d learned in the first class, and gave us a chance to really use it and consolidate it. I noticed it in myself and the other students also, it was like we were much more comfortable drawing by the end of it, people were learning very rapidly… “- Jacqi S., Seattle

“(The Next Step class) built nicely on what the instructor had covered in the first class sessions.” – Mike W., Kent

“I’m glad I took the second level course.  It really brought things together. Thanks for asking students what they were wanting to work on and partly structuring it around that.” – M.R., Seattle
