COURSE DESCRIPTION: Whether you draw or paint professionally, or just doodle for fun, knowledge of Perspective can make your artwork look more realistic and three dimensional, and solve common artistic problems. In this easy, step-by-step workshop, you'll learn the basics of one, two and three point perspective, including: vanishing points and horizon lines... how to make some objects in your drawings look close to the viewer, and make others look further away. Plus, you'll learn ways to add a sense of depth to your drawings and paintings, even in those times when you may not want to use formal perspective. Total beginners welcome!

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Nils Osmar has made his living in the arts since the 1980s, and has taught both accredited and non-accredited classes in Seattle for over twenty years, through the University of Washington's ASUW Experimental College, Antioch University's Heritage Institute, Shoreline Community College, the Wonder School, and Classesandworkshops.com. He has worked as a fine and commercial artist, and done book and magazine illustration, design, book covers and interiors. His artwork has been internationally published.

ABOUT THE MATERIALS:
You do not need to buy or bring any materials to this class. The instructor will bring soft-lead drawing pencils, sketch paper, kneaded erasers, and art gum erasers for you to use. All of the materials are yours to use, keep and take home with you.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL:
This class is sponsored by the ASUW Experimental College and Classesandworkshops.com. It's open to everyone; you don't have to be a U.W. student to sign up. (If an enrollee is under 18, please contact us first to make sure the class is a good "fit" for the student)
