LET'S MAKE A MOVIE CLASS LINKS
Upcoming classes
The class you're in (Let's
make a movie) is a "hands on," immersive experience
in independent filmmaking. Depending on your goals, you may also
be interested in the classes below:
Good classes for actors:
Beginning acting
In this enjoyable class, you'll learn how to create characters,
memorize dialogue, and use your voice, body and emotions as acting
tools and perform short scenes onstage in front of other students.
Plus: warm-ups, theater games, improvisational acting, information
about the Seattle theater scene, how to audition. A good
class for actors, and for people wanting to learn how to direct
actors.
Beginning acting 2 (a one-day workshop)
A follow-up class for people who have taken Beginning Acting,
and would like to keep learning and improving. Focus is on creating
and exploring characters, increasing our emotional range as performers,
and developing our physicality. Plus: some practive auditioning.
Good classes for filmmakers:
In addition to the course you're enrolled in, I recommend taking these courses:
Filmmaking 101: All the basics

About my films
I spend most of my time these days working as a filmmaker, writing,
editing and directing movies. My films have played in major international
festivals. You can watch clips from my past and upcoming movies,
as well as some complete shorts, at these links:

Productions home (Wonder Productions
is my company; this web page has information about my current
and upcoming projects)

(Internet Movie Database) (IMDB is an online database for
people in the film industry. Inclusion on IMDB means that a film
has premiered at a major festival)

Recommended reading for actors and filmmakers:

camera-acting skills)

Auditions in Seattle
Whether you're an actor looking for auditions, or a filmmaker
looking for actors, these links can help. Students sometimes
ask where they can find auditions for my films; I always list
them on Performers callboard and TPSonline.org.
Performers
Callboard (a Yahoo group; when
you join, you can specify daily or weekly emails or digests) (If
you only subscribe to one group, I recommend this one) (You'll
find auditions on performers callboard for stage, screen, video,
commercials, paid and unpaid jobs, etc.)
TPS (Theater Puget Sound)
(a valuable resource, particularly for stage actors) (You
have to become a member to view the listings) (So it does cost
money)
