I appreciated how you covered all of the basics, and took the time to answer student questions. - Michelle G., Seattle The class was excellent. I learned exactly what I was hoping to. I'll be taking more of the instructor's art classes in the future. - Chris K., Redmond Before the class I was drawing one figure over and over again, and didn't know how to move her around. Questions and answers about the class
Where is the class held? On the U.W. campus in Seattle. The exact location anbd driving directions will be emailed to you after you sign up.
Who teaches the class? Seattle artist/art instructor Nils Osmar. Nils has been teaching drawing and painting classes for over ten years, and makes most of his living as an artist.
I've never drawn before. Should I take this class, or take the Drawing for beginners class first? It's fine to take CARTOONING even if you've never drawn before, or taken any other art classes. Does the class cover cartoon figures, or just faces? Both. It covers several different types of cartoon figures, from the ones you would see in the Sunday funnies to those in comic books. It also covers cartoon faces and expressions, how to get your work published, finishing cartoons in ink with brushes and pens, and how to color cartoons in Photoshop. What ages are the students in the class? Most of the students are adults, but sometimes younger students attend. If a very young student is interested in taking the class, we ask that an adult either take the class with him or her, or, wait in a nearby classroom in case of an emergency. It's a serious art class, not just "play." Do I need to bring any materials, or buy them in class? No, all materials are provided by the instructor at no additional fee. Questions about signing up
